This week’s challenge: Evaluate each one of your team members and find what anchor your are comparing them to.
Quick reminder – an anchor is your expectation for their job, and furthermore, where that expectation stems from.
For example, our children’s anchor for parenthood is my wife and I, because that is who their first impression stemmed from.
This challenge was meant to help you see the ‘why’ behind your expectations and how they’re affecting your work place.
Were you able to trace down the history of your expectations? Why does this matter? Because if your expectations are too high or too low for certain team members than it can be crippling to their progression. We’ll talk more about how to fix this next week. In the interim, try to see where your expectations and anchors stem from, and how they’re impacting your workplace and team members.
